National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and The Builders Association of Central Massachusetts (BACM) is a non-profit trade association with a membership that represents over 250 companies such as builders, carpenters, tradesman, suppliers and other related professions involved in the construction, development and remodeling of single family homes in the 43 towns in central Massachusetts.
To qualify for membership, the applicant must have their references checked and applications scrutinized before being voted into the organization.

SELECT Shingle RooferSM (SSR)
This credential represents the highest standards of excellence, quality and knowledge in the shingle roofing industry. Very few roofing contractors hold this credential, so you can rest assured you are getting one of the best. Becoming an SSR involves several significant educational and accreditation steps. The company has shown extensive knowledge of shingle technology and quality. Companies which hold this credential have also provided CertainTeed with proof of workers’ compensation and liability insurance. Because they have met these requirements, only an SSR can offer you all three levels of SureStart PLUS extended warranty coverage.
Master Shingle Applicator™ (MSA)
This educational program is for shingle installers and is based on the Shingle Applicator’s Manual, which contains approved procedures for proper shingle installation as well as commonly accepted trade practices. A Master Shingle Applicator has studied installation techniques for a complete shingle roof system, including the techniques for installing all CertainTeed shingles for best performance and appearance. Only those contractors who have mastered every aspect of shingle installation earn the MSA credential.
Quality Master™
Another educational program, based on the Shingle Technology Manual, provides contractors with comprehensive knowledge of asphalt shingles – how they’re made, and what to look for in a quality product. A Quality Master has proven knowledge of asphalt shingles, from product components and design features, to price considerations and warranties. A contractor who holds this credential has taken the time to study the complexities of asphalt shingle technology so he can explain the performance differences to the homeowner.
PRAC (PROFESSIONAL ROOFER ADVISORY COUNCIL)
CertainTeed meets with contractors across the U.S. to discuss current information about the roofing industry. Only a selected group of firms are invited to attend these regional meetings. They are chosen for their high level of professional knowledge.
