What are the steps in the process of getting replacement windows?

Second, we will professionally measure your existing windows so to ensure an exact fit with your new replacement windows and present you with an exact price complete project quote. Once the order is placed, your windows will be custom made by the manufacturer.
What to Expect on Installation Day
The big day is here to replace your old, worn out windows in your home. What should you expect? Is your home going to be turned upside down?
Preparation
No. At Francis Harvey & Sons we treat your home like it is our own. Our window installation crews take exceptional care inside and outside of your home. We will put drop cloths down to protect your home, including your flower beds and bushes! During the cold weather, we will put up protective coverings to prevent the heat in your home from escaping while we install your windows.
Installation
Installers will begin taking out your old windows and examining your current insulation around the window frame before putting in your new windows. If additional insulation is necessary, our installers will add it before they install your new windows. Next, they will apply sealants to the frame to properly seal the new windows, eliminating any gaps and therefore, heat loss from air infiltration. New windows are then set in place and leveled. Once a window is level, it is screwed into place.
This process continues until all the windows are in installed. Depending on the size of the job, by the end of the day you might expect up to 10 windows to be done. Your old windows will be taken away and disposed of by Francis Harvey & Sons.
Clean-up
Finally, the work is area is broom-cleaned and the windows are cleaned and tested. After the project is finished, our crew foreman will take you around and show you your windows, demonstrate their operation, and answer any questions you may have.
